Sony Pictures Television Launches Diverse Director 2021 – Deadline

Exclusive: Sony Pictures Television has started accepting applications for the 2021 Diverse Director programs. This is part of SPT’s overall strategy to identify and hire new talent from a wide range of backgrounds.

Participants will have the opportunity to receive in-depth training to direct TV episodes at SPT and to interact with veteran TV directors, creative executives and showrunners. The program’s intensive workshops consist of discussions and advice from working directors, producers and entertainment professionals on the complexity of each phase of pre-production, production and post-production.

“At SPT, we’re working to create a more complete environment in front of and behind the camera,” said Jeff Frost, president of Sony Pictures Television Studios. “The Divers Director program was intended to provide another platform for undervalued voices in the industry. We are building a talent pool that reflects the world around us. I think this is an important part of our strategy. “
