HER to star in musical film adaptation Color Purple



HER turned out to be a musical sensation. Fans of The color purple and the soulful singer should be excited as SHE is expected to star in the musical film adaptation. In fact, the appearance of the super talented Bay Area native in The color purple will serve as her acting debut.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, HER is currently in the final stages of negotiations to solidify its place in the upcoming musical adaptation. Internal reports reveal that the “Could’ve Been” artist will play Mary “Squeak” Agnes. The character plays a waitress eager to launch her singing career. This role is clearly in the alley of HER. Who knows, maybe this will be another award-winning performance for her.

His work in a movie

The 24-year-old singer recently celebrated the success of “Fight for You”, an original song she wrote for Judas and the Black Messiah. She won the Oscar for best song at the Oscars in April.


Similar to his contribution to Judas and The Black Messiah, HER wants to put his writing skills to work for the remake. Additionally, HER works closely with the directors to create an original song for the film’s musical score.

Additionally, the film is still in pre-production and casting is underway to fill various roles. The musical will be released during the Christmas season in December 2023.
