Duck shared a music video for her latest single “Knife Talk”, which features 21 Savage and Three 6 Mafia’s Project Pat. The track is the last single from Boy in love certified.
The horror-inspired video is directed by Pablo Rochat, with black and white visuals that include vintage cartoons, old archive clips, and shots of the three rappers hanging from each other while brandishing huge knives.
Upon release, Boy in love certified debuted in first place on the Billboard 200 and had the best week for any album release this year, reports Billboard. The new downgraded album Donda topped Kanye West’s charts (which fell to # 2), and marks Drake’s 10th # 1 album.
Boy in love certified sold 613,000 equivalent album units, making it the biggest week for an album since Taylor Swift Folklore sold 846,000 units in 2020, according to Billboard.
It was recently reported that Boy in love certified officially broke Spotify’s record for the most released album in a single day. The project, released on September 3, finds Drake moving around as the record holder. The rapper previously made the most released album in a single day with his 2018 album. Scorpio which has accumulated 132 million streams from its first day on the platform.
Along with the album’s release on Friday, September 3, Drake shared the music video for his Boy in love certified collaboration with Future and Young Thug, “Way 2 Sexy”. The visual, which finds the three rappers tapping into their acting skills and portraying different characters, has reached nearly 23 million streams since its release.
For Certified Boy Lover Apple Music’s official bio, Drake described the album as “a combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth that is inevitably heartbreaking.” The biography also included an album dedication to the late Nadia Ntuli and Mercedes Morr.
Drake produced Boy in love certified himself alongside Noah “40” Shebib, Oliver El-Khatib and Noel Cadastre. The project marks the rapper’s first official album since Scorpiodominated in 2018 with singles like “Nice For What” and “In My Feelings”. In the meantime, Drake has released two mixtapes, Care package and Dark Lane Demonstration Tapes, in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
