Carol received the Actors Funds Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement and presented by Walter Cronkite as part of their annual TONY Awards gala that features the only American Theatre Wing approved live feed of the TONY AWARDS® broadcast from New York. Other recipients have included Julie Harris, Gwen Verdon, Charles Durning, Rita Moreno, James Earl Jones, Tyne Daly, Lauren Bacall, Stockard Channing, Tommy Tune, Liza Minnelli and Jerry Herman.

(Carol received Tony awards in 1964, 1968 and 1995.)
